You're right: "West Taiwan" is just as wrong as "Republic of China" or "Chinese Taipei".

With only a few days to go for the opening ceremony of #Tokyo2020, it's time to point at an ugly fact where #politics stain the spirit of the #OlympicGames:
Due to the constant pressure of #Beijing, athletes from #Taiwan are only allowed to participate under the laughable «Chinese Taipei» designation.
This is the consequence of the #IOC kowtowing to the #CCP.

To this I say: #LetTaiwanBeTaiwan.
After all most athletes
- are not from Taipei
- identify as #Taiwanese, NOT Chinese

Yup: postponing #Tokyo2020 is the only reasonable option as qualifying tournaments have been cancelled in many sports and some nations and federations already have said they would not compete. And for #Tokyo2021, there's more time to let #Taiwan compete as Taiwan and not as some Orwell'ian phantasy unit just to please fucking #Zhonhanhai and #Xitler. #LetTaiwanbeTaiwan #StandupforTaiwan
