This song was probably the first I ever heard that told me about how German musicians could do their own thing without being held accountable to 'a nation'.

The Tocs will forever be my example of a love for the German language, German sentimentality without endorsing the concept of a nation or Germany itself.

They are and we're just people who found it hard to express themselves in English, so they didn't.
They just were themselves, and that happened to be German. Nothing else.
