Teaching this week, for the first time after a stretch of doing other things for my university. I had forgotten just how much this means to me: standing in front of the students, I and Thou, inviting them to let the subject speak. This is the one thing I do absolutely right, and boy am I fortunate to be able to pursue my vocation as my actual work. Tears of gratitude. Next time I complain about life, remind me of this.
