#Lexember #Lexember2022 is over; I coined 185 words for #Rireinutire (or 202, or 259, depending on how you count). #conlang

So in my infinite wisdom I thought "current day" Ixa-langs would reinterpret the suffix -an as just a general noun-to-noun derivator, and made ixtollanan meaning "the Sun Empire language" from ixtollan. I was so proud of myself.
Then I came across a footnote in Plane Shift: Ixalan (a free DnD supplement for campaigning in this setting) that gave name to the Sun Empire language ("Itzocan") and is never mentioned anywhere else.
So I changed "ixtollanan" to be the demonym of the Sun Empire, which I guess I will have to change again due to the changes to *Elan.
Either way, from "itzocan" I reconstructed *Īktsi-tsūkan, with *Tsūkan meaning "tongue", but I'm changing it to "to speak" because I need more verbs. This gives

So I guess now Tocatli means "commanding house", a house so impressive it makes you instinctively subjugate to it.
And now, Proto-Ixalan *Dūk-elan ['du:k.e.'lan] gives "that which commands", with descendants
And in turn, *Etsnē "house" gives
