Yes, its extraordinary isn't it; the analysis is fine, but you do get the feeling that the #lexiters are trying to subsume our problems into a much broader history (partly to absolve themselves)

@Soweitsogut I predicted this in 2016 to various #lexiters in the UK. Namely that #brexit would move England at least in the direction of #fascism. The #lexiters would have none of it and still refuse to recognise their miscalculation.

The least we can do now is assist the #north of #Ireland and #Scotland to leave this toxic union.

Some good news for #lexiters

Their hope that #Brexit would reduce #neoliberal governance (frustrated by subsequent #Tory policy & actions), may bear a little fruit with the appointment of Sarah Cardell to UK Competition & Market Authority.

It seems she is likely to take a more sceptical view of the advantages of consolidation & merger (see CMAs recent Microsoft ruling) & as such may move away from Brussels' position of #corporate interest in M&A.

This is a difficult one for the #Lexiters, who wanted to exit the EU because it was so 'neoliberal' but then colluded with the #Brexiters to enhance the power of the rentier elite over the UK's economy.... the Lexiters really were 'useful idiots'!

Part of the #Lexiters case for #Brexit was it would 'encourage' more training & higher wages for #workers once the supply of 'cheap migrant' labour was lessened;

the conditions they expected (labour shortages) have certainly come to pass, but currently while some private firms have responded by raising #wages, increased training seems to remain a promise & pubic sector #employees are suffering declines in real wages

Perhaps our #lexiters (the left-Brexit brigade) did the #socialdemocrats on the continent a favour by making it clear that leaving the #EuropeanUnion to avoid #neoliberalism was a classic case of running in the wrong direction...

I'm not sure that's how Lexiters saw their not to leave, but its turned out (for Europeans generally) to be a piece of political self-sacrifice... for which we are all paying!
