#BOTD: Ruth Plumly Thompson (July 27, 1891 – April 6, 1976) was an American writer of children's stories, best known for writing many novels placed in Oz, the fictional land of L. Frank Baum's classic children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and its sequels. Following Baum's death in 1919, she wrote one Oz book a year until 1939. In all, she wrote a total of 21 Oz books -- more than Baum himself.

Just finished #LFrankBaum ‘s “The Life and Adventures of #SantaClaus” and it should be required childhood reading over the holidays. Love how it creates a single #pagan narrative for so many traditions during the season. I also watched the 1985 #RankinBass special based on it. Cute, but the book’s better.
