Had a great day exploring the 40 years of Thorne Harbour Health campaigns with a great exhibition and panel held at Laird today and then popped into @14 Gallery in Collingwood (running for another week).

I was once a volunteer and seeing this history and family makes me want to return to the fold. Apparently their next training internship is in August... 🤔

As a member of the queer kink community I have been a Catherine Opie fan from the beginning. Since the minute I saw her Self Portrait/Cutting (which is not her first work but certainly many would consider it her most notorious of the time), I was hooked.

Opies' take on queerness and the performance of gender has always mesmerised me. At first glance many of her portraits are simple, yet they are always questioning the status quo. 😍

After 9 months the Mentorship program I was lucky enough to have been a part of through the Midsumma Pathways program wrapped up today. I still have a few more sessions left with my mentor, but we had our last group 22-23 cohort session. I am not upset because I know this is only the beginning of some wonderful friendships.

If you live in the inner North of Naarm, you'll probably know where these gates are. I'm not telling the fascists where they are, they'll need to go on a treasure hunt.

I love how these very important flags are together (when the gates are together), because together we can stop the hurt, stop the hate, stop the killing. Together we are stronger.

Monash city council in Glen Waverley (in Naarm, so-called Australia) was angrily bombarded by an anti-equality mob protesting drag story time.

Straight people, Stop being complicit in your silence. Start emailing/writing letters, attending council meetings, protest, make art, anything you can do to Loudly proclaim your support for the LGBTQIA+SB community.

Because sooner or later they'll come for your freedoms too.

Driving to Horsham and saw IDAHOBIT flags erected along the Western Hwy in the City of Melton.

I've just sent them an email: csu@melton.vic.gov.au

Saying:
"...I just wanted to drop you a quick email to say BRAVO. Thank you for standing up strong against the rising fascism across the world and in Australia. Erecting flags may seem a simple, easy gesture, but it speaks volumes of your commitment to blanket equality..."

Sending emails when a Council does the right thing is just as important as holding them to account when they do the wrong thing.
