@DrCarpineti This toot is too late for #LGBTQSTEMDay. Or is it too early?

To quote @AnsonMackay@twitter.com, our article is now “fully out”! Read our reflections on our experiences as LGBTQI+ field scientists.
TLDR: Barriers to participation still exist. This paper is my public vow to be a more visible role model. #LGBTQSTEMDAY
One of my favourite things about #LGBTQSTEMDay is that it's packed with events created by our community for our community. We use it as an opportunity to nurture support, solidarity, and friendship. To me, that's what it's all about.

Happy #PolarPride! It's with overwhelming joy that I'm able to share this message of love, hope, and celebration from LGBTQ+ people and our allies from across #Antarctica. I think it's safe to say we have the most pride per capita of any continent on the planet. 🌈#LGBTQSTEMDay

Apparently today is #LGBTQSTEMday and we still have 39 min to celebrate! 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Celebrated #LGBTQSTEMDay by not doing any science for a change 😅, but at least I got to take a picture in a rainbow bridge 🌈
Happy #LGBTQSTEMDay everyone! I'm a bi :bisexual_flag: computer scientist/evolutionary biologist/ecologist studying eco-evolutionary theory in all kinds of weird computational systems.
I am lucky to be in some very queer-friendly fields, but when I've ventured into more mainstream machine learning and medicine spaces I've learned that not everyone is so lucky and visibility still matters
Side note - I just noticed our server has some fantastic queer emojis :QueerCat_Pride: Thanks @alxsim!

I have learned that today is #LGBTQSTEMday! And since I never did an #introduction…HI! I’m a queer lesbian biochemist who studies stress homeostasis with #Celegans. I giggle every time I “toot”

Hi @bmatb this #LGBTQSTEMDay I'm joyously celebrating by attending the Big Queer Science Show in Newcastle. Amazing performers and tons of fun!
It's #LGBTQSTEMday, and there's a bunch of new or new-to-Mastodon faces in my feed, so:
I'm Jeremy Yoder! I'm a #gay evolutionary biologist studying #coevolution, especially in #mutualism. I also helped launch the #QueerInSTEM project, which surveyed #LGBTQ scientists to understand our career experiences.
Our most recent paper found that #queer scientists who don't feel safe to disclose their identities at work publish fewer papers—a concrete cost of the closet
