After loading up my new #bookcase with treasures I found in the closet, I noticed a Pears' Cyclopædia from 1910. This uniquely British almanac ceased production about five years ago and I've yet to read the first edition, published in 1897, I think; the year of Queen Victoria's diamond jubilee.

I had completely forgotten about this. I guess I'll take it with me tomorrow and have a browse.
