Any tips for developing library science skills outside of formal education? When in undergrad many moons ago I worked in the school library and developed a love for it. I was subscription bombed last year but didn’t stop using that email - mostly because I get updates there from a couple dozen libraries I’ve gotten cards for over the past almost twenty years.

Other nights, I drink and catalogue eBooks to share with others and they deserve semi-decent metadata.

#TIL how to make AutoHotkey watch a Polaris Find Tool status bar for the word "Done."

Which means it no longer matters to my automation scripts how long it takes to look up a record. It'll just keep checking for the word Done every tenth of a second. #librarylife #librarynerd

Me: *executes a stored procedure I spent the last 30 minutes hacking on to make it return data it doesn't normally return*

SQL Server Management Studio: *successfully returns the data I'm after*

Me: Wait, that actually worked?
