Integration of library-related systems is great and provides more seamless experiences to the end users.

Then the backend procedures get so complicated. At least that is my experience in my 15+ yr library career.

I filled in for my co-worker and processed incoming Borrowing books today.

Juggling two systems to process books to be held in the library, sent to the campus office delivery, and home delivery took hours.😳
