Putting the finishing touches on a 20+ page paper about the Information Community. I’ve learned so much that will help me pursue the youth services pathway, but I’m so ready to be done with this class and get in the spirit.

@sonyaknits Hi! I'm really glad to meet people with a similar background to me over here. I'm an avid sewist and student of info & library mgt :) I'm quite new to Mastodon, so please bear with me. I'm currently in the middle of a metadata subject and just about to embark on a sewing project that involves some hacking (i.e., making a wrap dress out of the peppermint wrap top & peppermint wrap skirt). Should be fun!

Since I (also) switched to hcommons.social a few days ago, here is my third !

I am a PhD student in Islamic and Arabic Studies in Münster, Germany, working on practices of evidence and strategies of verification of prophetic descent in seventeenth- and eighteenth-century North Africa. In particular, I am examining texts on a particular descent community claiming prophetic descent: the descendants of ʿAbd al-Qādir al-Jilānī, from a translocal perspective.

Also: I am excited to see something growing here that I didn't think was possible a few months ago. Glad to be here with you all!

fyi: I have enabled automatic deletion of posts after one month.
