The #Libre2 continuous blood glucose monitor is great for #T1diabetics, but I think caution about its limitations is also advised.
I felt like I was going hypo, and when I scanned the sensor it showed I was, but my phone had got disconnected from the sensor (Bluetooth issue) and the alarm hadn’t gone off to warn me. It shows just how reliant I am on the alarm, but listening to my body’s warning signs is essential too.
I'm diabetic, recently re-diagnosed as type one, after 20 years as a "type 2." (I never responded that well to conventional hypoglycemic meds. Latency in type one is probably a recessive gene thing, I'm guessing.) Anyway, dear hivemind, I have a "brain pick" question for people of any age using the Libre2 CGM system, be they Android or iPhone.
I use iPhone and have discovered that the alarms in the Libre2 app are unreliable, as well as there being a huge, hour-long gap in readings every midnight or so.
Does anybody experience this on droid?
Does anybody on iPhone know of a fix?
Seems like a desperately bad bug, especially as there are parents managing their kids' diabetes and relying on these alarms via their carers app. I'm tech literate and one of the first generation of "screenagers", even having done a bit of grey hacking in my misspent youth, so I know tech better than the median bear, but I'm cautious enough to know I don't know it all, either.
Any ideas, dear hivemind?

I advise #libre2 sensor users to install the #Juggluco app. It allows you to receive glucose values minute by minute via bluetooth without any additional device.

So I decided to upgrade my continuous glucose sensors to the Libre2, which can apparently send alarms to my phone if my blood sugar goes too low/high. Sounds pretty neat. What I am not sure about is if I can use my Libre1 BG meter as a backup with them. I don't care about it not having full functionality, but I've been let down by the phone app software way too often to feel comfortable fully relying on it.
#Abbott #librelink já estou há mais de 40mn com erro do sensor. Assim não dá. :angry_homer:

Time for an #introduction
First, this account is pseudonymous. I want to talk openly about #disabilities in ways that might complicate RL matters. Or might not, but. I also want to talk about the #writing I'm never doing. Ha.
I "suffer" (I hate that phrasing) from #type2diabetes (and take daily #insulin and use a #Libre2), #fibromyalgia (or... something?!), #GAD, #BingeEating, #ACEs, um... anyway I am in constant fight or flight and I hurt all the time. And my insulin receptors are broke.

I’d love to know the more #psycology behind #arttherapy, but have only briefly used it as a patient in #cbt type #grouptherapy many moons ago.
I’ve really become passionate about #healthtech, like #libre2 for #diabetes … #adhd / #neurodiverse apps.
I’m so excited the more i learn. I’m right at the start of Dunning Kruger, could be talking BS.
Anyone interest in chatting the implications of this tech & #mentalhealthmatters ?
❤️
