I've been using #Docker on my #LibreComputer, an #SBC abotu equivalent to a Raspberry Pi 3, with 2 GB of RAM. I was just reading about #Podman as a drop-in replacement for Docker. Does anyone have any experience using it? Will it use noticeably less system resources? Any gotchas?

Libre Computer's new $35 Sweet Potato is a Raspberry Pi-like single-board PC that's similar to the 6-year old Le Potato board, but which features upgrades including DDR4 memory, 16MB of SPI boot ROM storage, a PoE header and USB-C port for power. https://linuxgizmos.com/libre-computer-showcases-low-cost-sbc-with-poe-support/ #LibreComputer #SweetPotato #SBC #AmlogicS905X

Libre Computer Cottonwood : deux fois les performances d’un RPI4

Recently (and suddenly) I've been having weird stability issues with my #RaspberryPi and #LibreComputer projects.
What changed is I ran out of official Pi power supplies (like #CanaKit sells) and I started using whatever I had on hand.
I learned these #microcomputers will do their best, but they really need load regulation at +/- 3%.
Getting back to an official power supply made a huge difference. Issues melted away and everything is stable.

Rebuilt on a #RaspberryPi 3 that I had sitting around, and was able to set some flags in cmdline.txt to get sound. It's not great sound, but it's sound. Some may be due to the screen rotation I need for the #Arcade1Up vertical monitor.
I'll likely rebuild again on #LibreComputer Renegade next.
I rebuild early and often because I have built #Ansible for the heavy lifting. https://github.com/edthedev/educade

Ok folks, I need you to tell me why I shouldn't.

I can't get sound working on the #LePotato core.
Everything else is a delight, but sound is critical to enjoying these #RetroGames.
What little I can learn suggests that #RetroPie and #Armbian have dropped (sound) support for Pi2 equivalent hardware. Fair enough.
While I can compile alternate C flags with the best of them, $55 will get me a Pi4 equivalent #LibreComputer #Renegade - so I'll try that next.

@librecomputer you are welcome! at the moment @guysoft is adding btrfs support to CustomPiOS, that we can use the #librecomputer images.
but i think @guysoft didn't get his test boards until now.
#Arcade customization project update: Waiting on parts. It's about 90% of the time in a hobby hardware project.
Nice thing is there's always something to look forward to in the mail.

#Arcade custom build update:
- #Arcade1Up uses such thin wires for the control deck, I was almost unable to reuse the stock controls.
- Pac-Man Legacy uses a sideways monitor so I've been learning how to rotate each app.
- #EmulationStation looks fantastic, though.
Surprisingly, the controls feel a bit more responsive in #RetroArch on a #LibreComputer #LePotato than they were on the native #Android board from #Arcade1Up. But there's almost no noticable difference (both very good).

Today is probably heatsink day. The two heatsinks from the #librecomputer #lepotato have also arrived....
#LibreComputer and #Armbian updates of the afternoon:
- The Libre Renegade running Armbian has no trouble driving a #Wacom input tablet. I didn't need to install anything, I just plugged it in and it works.
- Libre Renegade with Armbian has also worked immediately with both cheap USB Wifi dongles I have attached to it.
#Ansible roles for setting up a school lab are progressing. Pic below is the Renegade looking smug.

@byteshift69 I've been eying the #LibreComputer line!!! 2GB of ram for < $50 with a case is 😮
New tests SBCs arrived. Let's see how well we can support these SBCs.

With Raspberry PIs SBCs still hard to find or out of my price range, I found this Libre Le Potato Board for $35.00 bucks, doesn't have the WiFi - but does have 2gb of ram, It seems to run #Armbian fairly well, but I haven't had a chance to try out any hats or do any real tests on it. It does seem to have a overscan problem with this display, but otherwise it's good.
I didn't mind adding USB WiFi - kind of reminds of how things were with the Rpi 2B.

anyone worked with #librecomputer AML-s805x-ac ("la frite"), or its big brother "le potato"? I'm trying to set up the UART and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. #lafrite #help

#RetroGaming #Arcade build update:
The shell will be #Arcade1Up #PacMan.
The far right button will be sacrificed to become a USB port, making it easier to use a keyboard or alternate controller.
Games library will focus on #8bit games that don't need more than 4 buttons (generally coin, start, jump, action).
The motherboard will be a #LibreComputer #LePotato (a #RaspberryPi 2 equivalent).
I built the operating system up from headless #Armbian.
