well, the alarm clock worked this morning on the #librem5. so far most of the libadwaita & gtk4 apps have worked flawlessly, except I have had some issues with video playback, clapper worked well for local video playback, firefox worked well for when I need to look up a quick youtube video, but gnome web shows them all garbled. celluloid won't show anything at all because of "gl context" errors.
wifi connectivity so far has been good, very stable, but networks using wpa3 are not (yet) supported.

I'm obviously biased, but If you want to support #MobileLinux
buy a #MobileLinux first phone.

Disclaimer: I work with @purism on the #Librem5 and have been daily driving it as my only device (f**k #android ) for the last three years.

ready? for what?
there's plenty of enthusiasts (and we are all well aware of current limitations) that daily drive #pinephon'e (yeah OG PP is kinda slow, but it carried me for almost a year until I got a #Librem5 for doing upstream software development, #debian packaging and more.

In short:
If you had qualified what you were claiming to be a universal truth you lose all credibility and don't seem educated at all.

I took apart my OnePlus 6 for USB port repairs but ordered the wrong part. So I am using my #librem5 for a few days now. Its doing a great job!

It's hard to wait for something as long as i have for the #librem5, and not have any expectations. I guess the first impressions of the device are rather positive. The homescreen responds quickly. It feels like a faster phone than the specs would have you believe.
The operating system on the other hand is dated, running gnome version 3.38, released during the early phases of the phones development. Repeated messages about working on the software while the phone was on hold suggested otherwise.

After all that time, it's *finally* here. The #librem5 arrived today! Been playing around with it for a couple of hours now, experiences incoming I guess ^^

So yeah I have access to all Android apps on the #Librem5 , but what about native apps? Let's do a review of what I have installed so far 👇

Turns out you on a #Librem5 you can install android in a container and it runs at native speed. The android window shows as an app, so I can just use an android app if I find a native version lacking, neat!

Woah, a shipping notification for the #librem5? It's on it's way! Pity it requires a fee of erm.. one hundred and fifty Euro's to get it across the border... That's the price of a phone 😅

Ma nano sim fonctionne bien en France mais dès que je passe en Suisse où se trouve mon employeur je n'arrive pas à basculer.

Est ce que quelqu'un a testé cela sur une autre zone frontalière avec ce téléphone ou même un autre ?

Nice, apparently I was not completely unproductive yesterday during #DebConf23

I **did** upload the latest #confy after having helped upgrading blueprint-compiler (the required version was bumped) in #Debian .

The #gtk4 version looks absolutely beautiful, but see for yourself in the screencast I just did on my #Librem5 (no hw acccelerated video encoding yet, so that's why its not full fps).

This is the sort of app that makes it an absolute joy #daily #driving #phosh !

Sono tre anni che uso un Android senza inserire credenziali Google. #fdroid ed #aurorastore. Per la verità non è davvero #degoogled ma ci siamo molto vicino.
