@nuala switch to #ubuntu - I'm no techie and have used it for years. Works well with #libreoffce. I would never go back to Microsoft.

Friend dropped & broke the screen of her #macbookpro.

She had a 2017 Dell Latitude 5480. After installing #ubuntujammy and one of the many Gnome #MacOS themes, relevent desktop apps (#libreoffce #gimp, etc) she migrated her files.

"Runs great, seems faster?" "Looks just like my Mac." "All the files open!" "This is all free?" "What else can I get?"

Cost savings: $1,300 (new MacBook) + $300 (data transfer). Escaping vendor lock-in (hardware, software, support): priceless.

Nach einer Anwendung von "pacman -Syu" konnte der Dateimanager #ranger plötzlich nicht mehr mounten. Nach dem heutigen Update öffnet sich kein #LibreOffce Dokument mehr. Dabei wurde ranger selbst nicht aktualisiert und die bereitliegende Aktualisierung von LibreOffce habe ich nicht durchgeführt.

Ehrlich, das ist das, was mich an #ArchLinux wirklich stark nervt 😖
