Že nekaj časa imam nameščen LibreWolf, pa ga nisem uporabljal. Danes pa bom končno preklopil, na telefonu pa na Mull. Pa da vidimo kako zgleda net na teh programih.

If you’re switching to #Firefox, remember Firefox is not private by default. Consider the #LibreWolf fork, which is. Otherwise, go into your settings and adjust its tracking features (like having #Google as the default search engine), turn off telemetry, “experiments”, etc.

(Also, if you all switch and Google goes bankrupt, #Mozilla will go bankrupt too because they exist thanks to half a billion dollars a year from Google. So remember Google must survive for Mozilla to survive.)

@markwyner @Vivaldi I agree that there's no perfect browser, but I disagree about them having to make money...

According to @privacytests (https://privacytests.org/), #Vivaldi is not very private, at least when compared to others on that list (e.g. #Librewolf & #MullvadBrowser). And #Librewolf (in addition to being #FOSS) doesn't even accept donations: https://librewolf.net/docs/faq/#why-dont-you-accept-donations

@freakazoid well, sir, I had read your post using #Waterfox . I would like to let you know about #Librewolf 's existence too....and @Vivaldi 's too.

Wer LibreWolf nutzt, der sollte die about:config öffnen und den Parameter "dom.push.enabled" auf "false" setzen. Ansonsten besteht eine dauerhafte Verbindung zu einem Mozilla-Service (Push-API), der bei Google ( *.googleusercontent.com) gehostet wird. Ich hoffe, LibreWolf ist nicht falsch abgebogen - solche Änderungen sind nicht optimal, bei einem datenschutzorienterten Browser.

@stux I use @Vivaldi too, but instead of #Firefox ( by @mozilla ) I prefer to use #Librewolf (https://librewolf.net) and #Waterfox (https://waterfox.net). Right now I use Waterfox more then any of those browsers.

Kann mir bitte vielleicht jemand erklären, weshalb ich in der Desktop/Browser-Variante von Mastodon in den #Timelines keine #Favoriten/ #Geteilt -Zähler sehe, sofern ich auf meiner Instanz angemeldet bin?

Rufe ich allerdings eine andere öffentliche Instanz im selben Browser auf, auf der ich dann natürlich nicht angemeldet bin, sehe ich ganz normal alle Zähler.

Mobil per App für iOS sehe ich auch alles.

Honestly, there is currently no better #browser than #firefox (or #librewolf and such).

If not for the open web, use it for your own good.

@khorwood @SyntaxError You'll have to disable all sorts of things in #firefox or #chrome to get the thing you actually want in the first place. That's why there are quite a few forks most notably #librewolf and #ungoogled-chrome. These are excellent efforts to come back to the roots of what a browser should be imho. You could still add an email client or a crypto wallet or a note tacking app using extensions.

@southernwolf For those of us who embraced Mozilla during it's inception and heydays, it's difficult to accept that they have accepted practices that are contrary to what made them so initially attractive and well received.

Fortunately, today there are options like #librewolf and #mullvad which do a good job of recapturing what the essence of what made #firefox so popular back in the day.

Edit: #Linux distros need to stop shipping FF as their default browser.

Firefox is not dying, it's being killed by Mozilla tho.

@m0rpk #LibreWolf is great, too. Its based on Firefox, but more privacy focussed.

As I've now finally decided to remove #Pocket from my #productivity system, I am finally looking forward to giving #LibreWolf a good trial run, for my personal browsing. The Pocket issue was a real friction point for me. Now that it's gone... 🙂
