Although technology is largely neutral and the ethics of technology are based on human choices, some technologies are more conducive to promoting freedom than others. I refer to such technologies broadly as liberative technology (#libtech). Decentralized and federated services like the #fediverse are one form of libtech, as is truly decentralized #cryptocurrency like #cardano.

My namn is Andreas and I work as a systems librarian/team leader at The National Library, doing all kinds of fun stuff. Mainly around #Libris. My account here is mostly work-related.

I’m interested in #LibraryTechnology #libtech in general and especially #libraryOSS.

An #introduction. I’m the (Acting) #Law #librarian at #Windsor Law. Before that I did #libtech and #scholcomm work.

I used to be a blogger but now most of my writing is read via my #newsletter (link in bio). I do #gamedev largely for myself and friends.

I’ve been in involved in local #civictech groups and I want to get back into climate work and the re-imagining that it requires.

Release v0.6.0 of QA catalogue a metadata quality assessment tool for library catalogue records. The big thing: supports of PICA bibliographic metadata schema (a MARC alternative used in Germany, The Netherlands, and France).

Looks like a lot of people are doing the #introduction thing. I'm a regular stance #snowboard enthusiast riding mostly #libtech and #gnu snowboards. I'm also into #cycling and I believe #climatechange is the greatest challenge facing us today
