I wonder exactly how much the #BBC ‘s thinking is influenced by the current #licencefee freeze and the Licence Fee (Abolition) Bill working its way through parliament? The Bill has gone through the 1st reading and no dates yet for the 2nd reading. Was the #MOTD reaction by its management an attempt at lobbying the government? Probably not directly related but must be at the back of their collective minds…

This weekend has shaken my trust in the BBC. Always believed it was mostly impartial and independent from political interference. Clearly the #MOTD incident proved otherwise. Lineker maybe back but my trust has not. I am beginning to consider the idea of the #Licencefee removal and the #subscription model as its replacement. Would this drive a change?

So, the govt claims it will scrap the licence fee. What new tax are they going to invent to replace it? (you bet they will) and any new tax won't offer anything of benefit to anyone. Not sure how appointing a spiv to a senior position in the #BBC will end in any other way than badly.
