Greetings @Faten_sleem and welcome to OERu on Mastodon. Hope you enjoy your #lida102 learning experience.
@clintlalonde Its a great little quiz - Included this as a resource link in our #lida102 course on Digital citizenship. How did you fair on the quiz π?
Hi @sunnyhaze2006 There is no fixed date to complete #Lida102. At OERu you can study at your own pace. Good luck with all your studies.
@sunnyhaze2006 Yikes - I hope that your accounts were not compromised. A password manager is a good way to minimize these risks. #lida102
Great interview with Eugen Rochko @Gargron - founder and lead developer of the Mastodon social network software we use at #OERu. I encourage #LiDA102 learners to listen and consider how these themes relate to digital citizenship: https://www.softwaredaily.com/post/5acf3c9f018c5e0004415a55
Hi @sunnyhaze2006 - Can you share the url of the page in the course materials you are referring to. That will help me answer your #lida102 question.
@sunnyhaze2006 Good reflection. The timing of #lida102 couldn't have been better given the Facebook privacy issues in the news this week!. Would you say that digital citizenship also includes how individuals and corporations engage responsibly and ethically in broader society, economy and politics in addition to online identity and net safety etc.?
Hi @Ccooperwood Using hypothes.is on a mobile phone can be tricky - especially if you are like me with fingers that are not very good at controlling the highlight sliders. Tips: 1) I find it easier using landscape (widescreen) mode. 2) Disable all highlights clicking on the "eye" button π which makes it easier to see the text you want to highlight. After a couple of tries - I was reasonably consistent in highlighting on hyopthes.is using my mobile. Good luck! #LiDA101 #Lida102
Two things in the video (https://youtu.be/c0xa98cy-Rw) resonated with me. One was that wifi allowed laptops to be put away allowing other tech (paint & paper) to be focused on. Paul Gilster said that being digitally literate meant knowing when to use pen and paper. The other was Henry Jenkins reminding us that the skills are not how we do things with digital technology but what we do with digital technology - creating, engaging, socialising. #lida102
@sallyheroes Clever title! An exemplary #lida102 post. A highly recommended read concluding with a Magna Carta of the digital age for tertiary learning.
@sallyheroes Good find. I'm not familiar with the tool. Actually - thinking out loud - the next learning pathway on Digital environments for #LiDA102 is to evaluate an online tool / SaaS - I think you've found a tool for the challenge π https://course.oeru.org/lida102/learning-pathways/digital-environments/start-critical-review-challenge/
@sunnyhaze2006 Good see all these links defining digital citizenship shared with #Lida102 learners. Don't forget to apply your #LiDA101 skills in evaluating the reliability and credibility of the resources.
@CitizenModerna Indeed - digital citizenship is a global phenomenon but with very diverse needs depending on which side of the digital divide users find themselves. #lida102
@sunnyhaze2006 You have plenty of time to spare. Session 1 of #LiDA102 runs through to Friday unless you're planning on working ahead. See: https://course.oeru.org/lida102/course-guide/syllabus/
@sallyheroes Thanks for reporting the #LiDA102 link change. I have updated these - if you refresh the page, the links should be fixed now: https://course.oeru.org/lida102/learning-pathways/digital-citizenship/elements-of-digital-citizenship/
