@dana One of the use cases I’m trying to flesh out right now is something like a special-purpose community land trust, something that would let a community buy a derelict house of worship and repurpose it as a #Lifehouse, and be able to call upon a reserve fund for the upkeep, maintenance and repair that will surely be necessary.

After giving the matter some thought, and in response to something a few of you heads suggested, I’ve decided to develop the #Lifehouse material as a free, stand-alone pamphlet. I’d really like it to look nice, though, and I’m afraid my #illustration skills just aren’t up to the task. Are there any #solarpunk or Clifford Harper-inspired #illustrators out there who’d be into contributing a cover and/or incidental illustrations? Let me know!

The idea of the #Lifehouse is that there should be a place in every 3-4 city-block radius where you can charge your phone when the power’s down everywhere else, draw drinking water when the supply from the mains is for whatever reason untrustworthy, gather with your neighbors to discuss and deliberate over matters of common concern, organize reliable childcare, borrow tools it doesn’t make sense for any one household to own individually. *These can and should be the same place*.
