After my daughter and her husband moved their stuff out of this room and into their new (old) home, this closet was full of my son's things. James moved out about four years ago, leaving many things in his room and in this closet. I emptied this just now, and there's still ample room left in his old room. Coffee time here then an afternoon of GTA 5 online. I've had enough of 'moving' experiences!

Reviewing my movie collection -and spotting Life of Brian - brought back the memory of watching it live at release in a cinema way back then.

The film was preceded by a travelogue narrated by a crusty British voice extolling the beauty of Venice.

Each scene inevitably showed some gondolas floating by, as the narrator duly observed with: "..and gondolas" or "...and more gondolas."

After ten minutes, as the audience became increasingly restive - to the point of revolt it felt - the narrator (John Cleese no doubt) dropped the clanger, ending the umpteenth scene with: "...and more fucking gondolas."

Whereupon the entire theatre fell about in hysterics and the mood was set 😀

The Pythons totally pranked the audience. It was a big deal back then, dropping an F-bomb in a cinema.

Gerade durch Zufall in einem Filmausschnitt aus "Das Leben des Brian" entdeckt: Die Kulissen in Pilatus' Palast sind so detailiert, im Hintergrund sieht man sogar ein Spruchband auf Latein: "PILATUS IUDAEOS REGETOR", das heißt "Pilatus, Herrscher über die Judäer". Das ist mir nie zuvor aufgefallen, spricht aber für die Produktion des Films. Zu sehen ist es am Anfang der Szene, als Brian Pilatus vorgeführt wird ("Wirf den Purchen zu Poden!"). #MontyPython #LifeOfBrian
