My latest exploration of early photography in Washington State just arrived in today's mail. It's the story of famous (and infamous) photographer Eadweard Muybridge and his little-known 1871 trip to document the lighthouses along Washington's coast. It's in the summer issue of Columbia, the magazine of the Washington State Historical Society.

She was taken into town by the small steamer Janie Seddon, and on being attended by Dr. Hislop, was admitted to the Davis Street Private Hospital, where she is reported to be progressing favourably.
