I was casually updating the software I rent from them, then saw that I don't have access to #LightroomClassic anymore regardless of it actually being part of my subscription. Now they offer me to try it.

And here’s how I edited it 8 years ago if you are curious to see the evolution of my editing style. I try to keep more original skin texture now and I usually go for color over black and white these days too. I think we have better quality screens with more saturated colors now and so why not take advantage of that, but I do still enjoy muted & faded tones so I like to mimic that look using old VECO film presets. But, unlike app filters, these don’t do any skin smoothing, they just HSL values/highlights/shadows/etc.

I don’t know if that’s interesting to anyone but maybe there’s some #LightRoomClassic nerds out there.

The Lightroom classic auto detect people and sky for masking feeling like freaking cheating.

It really works well. It’s masking perfectly allowing for adjustments I’d regularly go to photoshop for.

This has got to be the best game changing editing advancement I’ve really been knocked back by.

It really feels likes cheating.

@ekes This isn’t just “oh heh #Facebook use your #images on their ‘free’ platform…” This is a #commercial service. I have consistently stuck with #LightroomClassic for exactly this reason. #Adobe had a few breaches before they launched their cloud,and I just didn’t #trust them anyway. But if the #tos of their #ckoud service say they can use your #workproduct however they like then they deserve none of anyone’s business. None.

I have officially moved (back) to #LightroomClassic, with #Lightroom Cloud serving only as a sharing mechanism (and possibly for iPhone photography escrow in the future). #photography
