Laugh at this video, but then think about what it means.

The place is just a thin layer of grass over that #coal. Where there is no grass, you step on coal. Self-respecting coalmines look like Mordor because they have anthracite. #Lützerath just has #lignite: "brown" coal that's high in sulphur, low in heat content, and high in water (up to 70% !). As a fuel, it sucks.

This is what Germany says will save it from Putin?

Also the water in it helps it turn to mud.

@Meyerweb The scale of the destruction is hard to grasp. Arte did a short video last year. Starting at the 2:18 mark, you can see in the background the #lignite power plants that are burning all this extracted carbon and putting it directly into the atmosphere.
