From 21-26 Dec, twenty fireworks-related injury cases were reported to our national sentinel surveillance system. This was similar to the number of cases reported during the same time period last year. Of the cases, 19 (95%) were male. Median age was 10 years old. Twelve (60%) cases were actively involved.
