when our bikes got stolen two weeks ago, the bigger loss by far was our collection of FreshDirect grocery totes stashed in the paniers and the grocery wagon.

for those who aren’t familiar, FreshDirect is a grocery delivery service that started in Queens, New York in 2003 or so. at the time I was living in a food desert in Long Island City, without a car, and their groceries were top quality and well priced. I ended up using them for close to a decade, and still have an account to stock any Airbnb I may occupy when I’m home for a visit.

their reusable grocery totes are simply the best: light but structured, easy to fold, virtually indestructible. so good that I hoard them whenever I’m New York and bring them back to San Francisco with me.

I’m sure I’ll have an opportunity to rebuild my collection sooner rather than later, but in the meantime, please enjoy Banana’s demonstration of their spaciousness and use of use.

for the 8th Day of Enia, @shotsandcuts gifted me a fancy camera rental for the weekend.

I haven’t had a nice DSLR for quite a while: when the whole world switched to digital viewfinders, it became really difficult for me to use one because of my vision impairment.

but this one has a nice big super hi-res viewfinder, so I can actually use it.

I’m heading out for a photo wander, but in the meantime, Banana got new glamour headshots.
