Today’s photo is another from my #FamilyHistory: this shows the last remaining #LimeKiln ruin at #WoolBay in #SouthAustralia, built by my Great Great Great Grandfather, in 1910. Dad recently told me this was an “American style” kiln, and was only efficient when the wind blew from a certain direction. #HistodonsAu #Histodons

Picture of myself helping load a small #limekiln in Millstone Park, Hyllestad (Norway). Kiln and picture by geologist Per Storemyr who is a main collaborator for my PhD project. He runs a building conservation service called FABRICA and is a protagonist for interdisciplinary work that takes the knowledge of crafters seriously. The #quicklime, made from a white marble from Osterøy, was used as limewash for Fastings Minde, at the University of Bergen.

CPG has commissioned 50 TPD Precipitated Calcium Carbonate Plant with natural gas-fired Kiln. This is one of the finest plants in the Precipitated Calcium Carbonate industries. Perhaps this is the first plant in the region which is supplied on turnkey basis.
