This photograph is of a #limpkin or #cryingbird, #Aramusguarauna, in the #Orlando #Wetlands #Park in Christmas, #Florida.
Limpkins range from southern Georgia, to the Florida #peninsula, though the #Caribbean islands, and into South America.
They feed mostly on #snails, #applesnails primarily, but also eat other small mollusks, insects, and seeds.

A bit of summer after suffering through the #BombCyclone and bone-chilling wind chill (my condolences to those still suffering this system). This is a #Limpkin that visited #OxleyNatureCenter last spring through summer, and into fall. At one point, there were four of these birds in the sanctuary feeding on snails and mussels in the #Wetlands. Limpkins have been expanding their range, so hope we see more next spring.
