The Lincolnshire salt marshes really can look forbidding. You can imagine in the past how the people who lived near them became religious or superstitious.

For the next photo, I moved further into the salt marshes. Being out there in the coastal fog reminded me of the opening scenes of Charles Dicken's Great Expectations.

Lincolnshire is split into several geographically defined areas each with a different feel. The Wolds, the Vales, the Trent Valley, the Fens, and the salt marshes. The one area of Lincolnshire which I have avoided photographing is the Lincolnshire Salt marshes. A coastal fog found me at the saltmarshes and the photos I will be sharing over the next couple of weeks are my attempts to photograph this area.
