Fenwick Lawson’s sculpture of the saint in the ruins of #Lindisfarne Priory, Holy Island. The original, in the grounds of Durham Heritage Centre on the Bailey, was created in 1984. This bronze was cast in 2000.

Friday’s #ImageOfTheDay. The ruins of #Lindisfarne Priory on #HolyIsland where a new memorial has been created to mark the site of St #Cuthbert’s original burial-place in the former Anglo-Saxon monastery. These ruins are of the Benedictine Priory that was refounded as a cell of Durham Cathedral in 1083. The Priory Museum has also been revamped: it reopens this weekend.
