My Daddy passed away almost 5 yrs ago. My Mum became seriously ill on the day of his funeral & was never able to go home again. Only now have I the guts to go through all Daddy's weaving stuff. The reason to make them yourself is that you wash the fabric first so later the garment doesn't get weird. Cause shorts/pants are going to get washed & washed & washed. Anyway, who wants instructions to make drawstring linen shorts/pants? I have it down to about 2.5 hrs of not working very hard, but the first pair took 5 hrs because I had to remember the process. Trying to figure out what to do with this thrifted linen yarn. I tried size 5s with stockinette, garter and moss but that was too messy. Now I'm trying stockinette and garter on size 2s, and that seems better, but still kind of boring? But I feel like a more complicated stitch would get lost in the yarn texture.
