Beginning a project of learning #dutch to """test""" what might be an effective #languagelearning method for myself:

- (repeatedly?) reading a grammar textbook, basically cover-to-cover without taking notes to familiarise myself with sentences and broad strokes of the language

- hammering #LingQ for input, going through their built-in stories

- expanding ASAP to youtube and podcast content, once I get an ear for the language

Looks like #LingQ is going to be garbage. I'm sure the meaning depends on context, but I need the correct one for the context of the sentence THAT I'M CURRENTLY LEARNING. #LanguageLearning

In the year that I've been studying #Norwegian, I've learned to actually speak and express myself. Surprising how different of an experience it is compared to the forced French learning at school. 7ish years of French classes and all I can say is "I am a cat" in French 😂

Motivation is such a huge factor!
