@linuxaustralia has started their annual grants program.
#ampache used this #grant a few years ago to help me with lots of things I just couldn't afford to pay for myself up front.
Without it, I don't know if I would have been able to do what's happened with Ampache since.
Are you a #freesoftware developer who has a plan but needs help to achieve it? This might make your life a little easier and your project better for it! #linuxaustralia #dev

Well #linuxaustralia , that was a beautiful reprise of the old #OSDC that you just put on for us.
And I recon #EverythingOpen is a bloody good name for it too.
I'm sure I'll have a talk proposal or two for next year, but like always, I hope there are better ones for you to pick :)

Did you love #linuxconfau? Then you're going to love #EverythingOpen - another excellent #conference from #LinuxAustralia.
#EverythingOpen brings together folx in the #GLAM, #OpenSource, #OpenHardware, #OpenData, #OpenCulture and related communities to share knowledge, exchange ideas and collaborate.
What you might not know is that #EverythingOpen, like other events in the Linux Australia stable - #PyConAu, #DrupalSouth, #WordCamp -
- is #volunteer-run.
This means that tickets are much more affordable than commercial or for-profit events - when was the last time you attended a 3-day #conference for around $100 per day (Hobbyist rate)?! That low cost is subsidised by the hundreds - thousands - of volunteer hours that go into the conference. To the team - thank you. You are appreciated.
Everything Open is on at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre in beautiful #Naarm #Melbourne March 14th-16th.

PSA/reminder: The Linux Australia call for council position nominations closes THIS Saturday, 7-Jan.
If you're a Linux Australia member and want to make a difference, please consider nominating for a position. While it's not zero work and there can challenging decisions to make, it is a rewarding experience.
Also, nomination is a 3-step process:
1. Nominate (yourself or someone else).
2. Second the nomination (I'm happy to do it if you can point to some indication of your good intent).
3. ACCEPT nomination (Only nominees who accept their nominations will be up for election).
Log in to https://linux.org.au and go to "MEMBER AREA" -> "Elections" for all the details.

I have a question: Is "Everything Open" (https://2023.everythingopen.au) a rebranding for Linuxconf? Messaging on this has been ... less than optimal in my opinion
