As much criticism about the #SteamDeck that there is about that it's not fully a #console yet (#notyet) but it's going there because what identifies consoles pretty well is the same type of hardware that

#GameDevelopers can #target and #optimize for.

#Valve were pretty clear that they did not intend to upgrade the hardware anytime soon which is

#ConsoleThinking. They are making a console, it is #InTheWorks. It's already on the #market.

GUI users: do you ever switch to the Linux #Console (Ctrl+Alt+F1, etc) for anything?

I recently did a rather raw install in an oldish machine, and have been trying to "live" in the console for as most as I can. It's much less forgiving than a terminal emulator, but still fun to see how far can you stretch it to work.

I wonder if anybody else uses it?
