users - I run Reaper Linux and had a computer crash. After setting up a new one and transferring over my Reaper, project, Wine, VST, etc. folders, the projects open fine, but although MIDI tracks show the note data, any Windows VSTs used in Carla are gone. Carla is there, and native Linux effects that were used show up in it. Just not the Windows VSTs. They (the VSTs all work normally for any new projects).

What would cause this? Is there a way to retrieve the missing instruments?

Luckily these were not critical projects, still I would like to know in case this ever happens again!

I was going to continue work on a couple of new pieces, only to find that my music production computer has died. I back everything up each night, and have an older computer I can setup as a replacement, but even with adding more RAM and changing the drives to SSDs, the processor makes it a step backwards. Oh well - at least it is something. Thank goodness for backups!

Using the Mod strip of the to control the filter resonance of the synthesizer. Percussion from both the (hats and claps) and (kick and snare).

Recorded in Ardour on Linux, using Steve Harris' "decimator" plugin, Calf Studio Gear's "Calf Phaser" plugin and Dragonfly "Hall Reverb" plugin.

Pipewire discovery: multiple interfaces are supported for jackd clients with NO additional configuration 🥳

With my Behringer UMC 1820 and Roland Rubix 44, I can now have 12 input channels to record simultaneously within Ardour. If I get a second UMC 1820, that'd be 20 input channels 🤯
