Hace un tiempo compartiendo un viernes de escritorio, comenté que tengo una instalación de Fedora con Gnome, pero con Nemo como navegador de archivos. Quiero volver a Nautilus, pero no estoy seguro de que hacer jajaja. ¿Alguien me podría orientar?

I'm trying to set up a linux server to start up and run a shell script.

The script works, if I log in and run it, but if I kill the terminal session, it stops. I don't want to be signed in on a terminal all day which is why I want to have it run on startup, the solution is to set it as a cron job.

I haven't set up a cron job in years, so now I'm trying to make a point to do this, for learning.

I logged into the user account I set up (not root) and ran "crontab -e" to edit crontab. I added the following line at the end of all of the commented-out lines

@ reboot /home/user/script.sh

I save it, reboot the server, and it doesn't run. Anyone have advice on how to fix this?

I updated my Manjaro laptop yesterday and my Megasync broke. It only took 15 minutes to fix, but I ended up having to manually install a dependency.

Asking a non-technical person to do anything involving the word "dependency" is probably asking for trouble. But stuff breaks on Linux. Maybe not often, but often enough, even on point-release distros.

So what do you all do to fix that? Is there a particular distro that you like to recommend to non-techies?

Any recommendations for a light linux distro I could install on an old eeePC for my son? I just want something basic for him, mostly so he can learn how to type.

It's got an Atom N450 with 1GB RAM and the Xfce version of LinuxMint is VERY slow.

I haven't used linux in a long while. I can do command lines, I'm rusty.

It looks like PuppyLinux, but before I go through that process again, would anyone know a good very light distro?

Well I think I may have a workaround for grub error. Basically, go into my Linux client, get into terminal, update grub, it should show all current drives / OSs. Then hit save.

Could use some guidance on grub and dual booting with two hdd's with different OS's (Linux and windoze). I've done the you tube search thing and it's like a foreign language to me. I will say this though, I did manage to install both OS's on separate drives.
