@nonsequitur I abandoned Windows as soon as it wasn’t a work requirement. Ironically, erstwhile #Office365, now #Microsoft365, made it much easier to abandon #WindowsOS.

#LinuxOS was my main personal OS for over a decade. Stability, efficiency (especially on ultra-light laptops) and ease of updating.

Now #MacOS is my main OS. Most of the benefits of Linux but much more polished. Interoperability through iCloud with iOS and iPadOS devices is excellent. Nothing else comes close IMHO.

I have a #Linux question: what’s a good #LinuxOS to run on older laptops? I have an old MacBook and a Dell.

so #skyshowtime apprently think that #linuxos and #linuxusers are the pure evil and shall not be abble to watch their streamings. But are more then happy to accept subscription from a linux pc.

That's what Canonical has been trying to do Ubuntu even making it available as default OS. from hardware vendors. Aside from the #snapfu they've done a decent job overall.

I agree that Linux needs an instantly recognizable brand/logo, something like a BMW. But Linux is more akin to branding all 4-door sedans 🚗.

Maybe #thelinuxfoundation can curate a #LinuxOS brand and logo as a direct analogue to Windows / OSX

People who joke about The Year Of Linux on desktop?

We are at the point where Linux is much more attractive alternative to Spydows. M$ is screwing up badly with the worst updating model in the history of OS computing.

Valve (Steam) are pushing Proton / Steam Play.

Devs support Linux more and AMD are improving their Linux drivers.

It is a mere matter of time when Vulkan (the DirectX hunter) is to become an industry standard?
