@linuxplumbersconf has just told me: โYour abstract 'The taming of the kernel dump' has been successfully submitted. It is registered with the number #138. You will be notified by email with the submission details.โ
The CFP for the Linux Kernel Debugging MC is now open! If you ever debug the kernel, and wish that it were a bit easier to do so, you may have a topic worth discussing. You can read more about it and submit a topic below.

I was cleaning up my office this morning and casually came across my badge from #LinuxPlumbers 2019 (from when my work in the kernel was supported by The #LinuxFoundation's Core Infrastructure Initiative). That was a great conference and I really liked Lisbon. I also found my Lunch Card from LPC 2017 (IIRC that one was in Los Angeles ๐ค). ๐งโ๐ฝ

#SSDFS, a ZNS SSD ready #filesystem with zero GC overhead was sent out to the #Linux #kernel's fsdevel list for the first time (as RFC):

See that post for things like problem declaration, why yet another fs, design goals, architecture, and benchmarks that Viacheslav Dubeyko provided.
And/or see abstract, slidedeck, and the recording of his #LinuxPlumbers 2022 talk:

We're very close to have our location and dates for #LinuxPlumbers 2023 locked down. Serving as the chair for 2023 is certainly a privilege and also a proper challenge given the current situation.

"[โฆ] Overall: 91.8% of respondents were positive about the event, with 6.3% as neutral and 1.9% were dissatisfied. [โฆ] There are 195 videos from the conference! [โฆ] 72% of respondents plan to watch them to clarify points and another 10% are planning to watch them to catch up on sessions that they were not able to attend.ย [โฆ]"

Excited and happy to serve as the chair of #LinuxPlumbers in 2023! We're actively looking at various venues.
But as you can see there's barely a two month pause between #LinuxPlumbers taking place and starting to plan for the next one. :)
Does anyone have a recommendation for an #oss based #ranked choice/voting site which our little planning committee could use to vote on the next #LinuxPlumbers venue? :)
2/ The docs describe this the feature like this:
"[โฆ] some [HID] devices may require custom tweaks, traditionally done with a kernel driver fix. Using the eBPF capabilities instead speeds up development and adds new capabilities to the existing HID interfaces. [โฆ]"
See also this recent #linuxplumbers talk from the main developer of the HID-BPF patches:

RT josh_triplett: At the #LinuxPlumbers Rust MC: "I'm Matthew Wilcox, I'm one of the authors of the NVMe spec, I'm the one who suggested you make an NVMe driver to demonstrate the value of Rust. You have succeeded beyond my wildest expectations. These performance numbers are phenomenal."
2/ FWIW, looking at the #linuxplumbers schedule for talks your are interested in and then search for the recording on #YouTube is likely the best way to approach the huge number of videos.
Bonus: You'll find links to the slides via the schedule, too.
Many talks from this years #LinuxPlumbers conference are now up on #YouTube!
