The production itself is already greener (less emissions), and greater durability means that products made of this material can be made of a smaller amount (e.g. bottles with thinner walls and the same strength), and thus cheaper and even more ecological.

Wow, ich bin erstaunt: es gibt einen, ich würde sagen Durchbruch, bei der Herstellung von #Glas. #Lionglass - entwickelt an der Penn State Universität. Die Widerstandsfähigkeit gegen Risse konnte um den Faktor 10 und die Herstellungstemperatur auf 400 Grad C reduziert werden. Damit könnte weniger / dünneres Glas verwendet werden und die Energieeinsparung entspricht 30%.
