When I walk through the woods here, I often keep an eye out for pieces of wood with interesting shapes.
This one was quite heavy but very much worth the effort of carrying home, I thought.

Often, it's only by turning these pieces around and around in your hands, watching sunlight and shadow move over the changing surface, that you discover whatever was hiding there; in this case something I thought that looked quite a bit like an old lion's head.
