definitely sdf commode chat but I will also have ~chat irc open. I should probably be in # on liberachat, but it's hard for me to be in three places at once and I seem to often lose my connection to liberachat. If *you* are there you are welcome to remind them the lispy gopher show is happening ( is a great fountain of technical advice and commentary ). I think @rwxrwxrwx and @jackdaniel are usually over there.

Doug Lenat died. RIP.

He started the Cyc project, using Lisp Machines as a development environment. The project is roughly since 40 years ongoing. Cyc was the dream of a large-scale knowledge base of common sense knowledge. One that has many ways of reasoning and making inferences. It used SubL a variant of Common Lisp.

Here is an old screen shot...

@alchemist
many of us ! In particular I have been awed by @surabax 's recent toot series on symbolics era stuff, who is working on launching lisp.ie (WIP) monthly broadcasted talks as well.

@amszmidt for , @amoroso for
as well are centrepoints for me here.

@surabax I might have got the colors reversed again. To annoy Kay a little further, I think the and resurrections were the eventual revolution now after a few decades of worseness, with widespread computers that are powerful enough (too powerful in fact).

By the way, (side topic) on the lispy gopher show tomorrow, is there something in particular I can mention about lisp ireland?

Well no pressure, but if you do and it makes sense to me I will try to straddle it into zmacs, and then maybe forward in time into gnu emacs again. I believe the MIT-CADR vm I am using simulates the c. 1981 with implemented by ZWEI, whose source I have not yet gotten into. On the last lispy gopher show, people in the live COM chat were filling me on ZWEI->EINE, zmacs->Hemlock time progressions. ....->GNU emacs

@trurl
I was thinking of asking for that. I am also especially interested in elisp / major mode design at the moment because for old computer challenge I have been using the whose emacs implementation is with major modes (and not gnu or lucient emacs with emacs-lisp).

I wonder if there is or was a near-antecedent to planner-mode major mode for Zmacs ? @amszmidt are you familiar with any TODO style major modes now or previously for zmacs?

Old Computer Challenge Directory (and web proxy:)
gopher://tilde.club/1/~screwta
gopher.tildeverse.org/tilde.cl

source and usage (like debugging..)

In which I define LIST records as situation calculus actions over :keyword fluents (for a PLANNER).

Basically an argument to use LISP for mathematics like Sussman, but to culturally inherit Zetalisp's SET-DIFFERENCE and INTERSECTION of LISTs

Hey should I be calling #'CLOSURE myself? From what I can see, these are the same:
(setq x '5)
(setq closure-1 (let ((x 2)) (lambda () x)))
(setq closure-2 (let ((x 3)) (closure '(x) (lambda () x))))

?

To-do to-day:
1. Screenshot of interlisp, since I was talking about it so people
can see interlisp programs running

2. Write world's simplest planner in

so many lisp machines

I have had a a shy half-week, but I better get my on! This is all I'm doing, on my main computer anyway which is amd64 and a bit over a decade old:

BOOT> asdfdfsafdf <backspace backspace backspace>
BOOT> machine memory =512M
BOOT> boot /bsd.sp
..
$ startx
$ ./m -s
to enter the tumbleweed.nu/lm-3/ vm
using 2048K physical memory, 16127K virtual memory

Honestly, this changes nothing for me...
