The very first written proof of the multimillenary Mastodon world plot can be seen on Papyrus Michigan 4290, a unique fragmentary papyrus from the 5th- or 6th-century AD, which the ancient Greeks and Egyptians attributed to one #IoannesMastodon His or her name is now transcribed as #JohnMastodon or #JoanMastodon (gender is unsure).
The recto shows a short text reading "Join Mastodon" (meaning " join the cult of Mastodon ?" or, more matter-of-factly, "give the papyrus to a person named Mastodon" ?). The verso shows the drawing displayed here, clearly recognizable as a mastodon.
