So I tried growing oyster mushrooms for the first time! Bought an inoculated grain bag with warm white oyster mycelium online, used hydrated lime to pasteurize straw as substrate, and filled a couple of bags with alternating layers of straw and grain. The mycelium took around 2 weeks to colonize the entire bag / 'log' and a couple of days ago the first primordia appeared along the air exchange cuts, growing quickly into plump fruit body clusters! This one is almost ready for harvest - can't wait to try them and see if they taste any good! Are there any fellow fungi farmer amongst my Fedi friends?
