SO excited to see this completed! It has a lot more that needs to happen, but it's a good start! After a weekend of really fun 18th Century research, I can't wait to continue the history-inspired image exploration!

Got some work done on the value study of this image during my livestream this afternoon. I think I've explored it enough to start putting in some color. We'll see how it goes. I think it'll be a WIP for a while yet... hehe...

After a week away at a Theatrical Design/Tech conference, I was finally able to return to drawing.

This is a riff on the relationship between Little Red and her father, who isn't in the original tale. I'm making up a reason why. And I'm really enjoying exploring it all through drawing!!

It's part of my "Little Red Story in my Head" series I'm starting. I have a sprawling epic percolating in my brain, and with every image I get closer and closer to it... I'm having a lot of fun! It's decidedly NOT a children's story for me anymore.

Packing up a few calendars to ship to the evil that is Amazon... <sigh> I'll also have it on Etsy & my own website, but folks seem to be enamored of *that* website for some reason. I've sold more of my stuff there than on any other platform, and I die a little inside giving the dragon more of my gold, but if I can reach people through that mechanism maybe some of them will make the leap off of it to my own site.

Test Printing!!! Woohoo! My husband's years in small-press publications, layout, and graphic design have really come through for the calendar! I think it looks so pro!! I can't wait to get this into my shop!!

I think I got the cover image for my calendar done. The title font is a substitute until I find something better, but the image itself underneath it is done. Whew!

This digital version is adjusted to look good on screens, and the print version is a little less intensely dark and light, but I'm happy with both!

And they're all done. All twelve months. Now I have to do an absolutely stellar cover, format the inside info page, do test printing to get the image looking right, and assemble a whole bunch of them... Oy!

But I'm SO HAPPY just to see all of these together. I was worried I wouldn't get it done before school started again. But the bulk of it is ready. Just a few more steps to go.

This one was challenging--I had to really edit down the reference image. But I had a good time, and I'm really happy with how it turned out!

November. Whew! I have two more months to complete: July and December, and I want to go back and revise May. But then I'll start making mockups and start selling them.

Man, this month was a hard one for me. LOL! I'm glad I accomplished it thought--I really pushed the colors and lighting so I hope it still looks wintery...
