Epiphany, Jan. 6, is when we celebrate the arrival of the wise men and their gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Being warned in a dream, they escaped for home by another route. Herod was so enraged he ordered the killing of all the children in and around Bethlehem who were 2 and under.
So why is Holy Innocents commemorated on 12/28 and not after Epiphany?
