We've recently watched and been impressed by "Litvinenko", a drama based on the vicious murder with radionuclide polonium-210 in London of Alexander #Litvinenko (played by David Tennant) by the Russian State. It's on ITV X (formerly ITV Hub). I recommend it.

Finished it tonight. Bit of a tear-jerker.

At the time I remember the reports on how the police went about the case, and the amazing skill with which the whole thing was pieced together.

Some have said better as a documentary - bit conflated about that. There are things you can do in drama not possible in a documentary.

Certainly a string of deaths of other Russians in the UK was skirted over. Berezovsky in the drama gets to stand for them. He died in 2013.

I'm a big Tennant fan, across the board. I'm never surprised by the depth and breath of his ability. This performance, however, seems more significant. [the most important thing] "we can do is tell the story again and again, because that way, Putin loses."

As well as the 6-part A Spy Among Friends, itvx are highlighting a 4-part 45 min per episode drama, starring David Tennant, based on Russian defector Litvinenko who was poisoned with radioactive Polonium in a cup of herbal tea.

Not good reviews: "David Tennant isn’t doing a Russian accent in Litvinenko. He is just doing José Mourinho’s voice."

Might be worth a try. Though yet again, as for the Philby, we know this story so well.
