TIL that Kubernetes liveness HTTP requests are completely useless unless you want to violently break large and important parts of the HTTP specification.

"Any code greater than or equal to 200 and less than 400 indicates success. Any other code indicates failure."

This means it's impossible to respond with request validation errors, 404 Not Found, etc., without having the service restarted. Who thought up and approved this garbage?
