One very minor nice thing about entering 2023: my mental "ask a search engine to limit to recent-ish results only" window can now relatively safely just rub ">=2020" on it, and all done.

Previously I had to squint a little and choose something in the 2017-2019 range.

I think that, more than anything else, my having read the novels of Neal Stephenson has been the most helpful resource in getting me mentally adjusted to the fediverse.
Particularly Cryptonomicon, Seveneves, and Anatham. All for different reasons.

Just upgraded from opensuze 15.3 to 15.4 and for the first time ever it went smoothly. Completely nullifying my knowledge of how to restore mounts, fix Nvidia drivers from text-only mode, or otherwise grundle around patching up things that went spang. It was nice.
