Hat gestern sehr gut funktioniert. Der spätere Zug startete pünktlich und kam ein paar Minuten verfrüht in Edinburgh an. Etwas befremdlich waren die Videoüberwachung im Zug und die ständigen Hinweise, sich beim Personal zu melden, sollte man etwas ungewöhnliches beobachten. #lner

Jetzt viel tote Zeit, weil unsere ursprünglich gebuchte Verbindung ausfällt wegen Streik. Hoffentlich fährt der andere Zug später. #IndustrialAction #lner

@slowe #LNER do a much better job of this. Their bike lockers, though also cramped, do have booking indicators and they are usually locked shut until you get there, so no one can put luggage in your spot. I do, however, miss the old 225 trains with a bunch of Sheffield stands in the guards van. So much easier!

this is a msg 2 all #Scotsmen who boarded #LNER #train from #Durham 2 #Edinburgh, and #Edinburgh 2 #London today, and saw my question cards which I left on the table. I received no yes' and this is very very disappointing! any #rail #staff who disposed of cards will be punished! u can rectify by answering yes!
imagine there's a way of shrinking oneself and I wanted to shrink down and be swallowed to find out what it's like in your belly, and neither of us would be harmed, would you agree to it?

@davidjamesweir @Chip_Unicorn At least when travelling first class (#Interrail in my case), the traveller experience was excellent in #LNER trains… complimentary breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Including beer or wine. On low occupancy evening services you might even get a double portion if the staff thinks you look hungry;) “Have another beer, you know you want one.”

On the #LNER train and we're currently going 80kph rather than 200kph because "the British tracks don't like the heat".

We're going to have more and more of these problems as climate change kicks in. Britain has increasingly fluctuating weather from hot to cold and British train tracks can't deal with that.

Wir sitzen in einem #LNER #Azuma von Gleneagles nach London Kings X. Die Anzeige, ob ein Sitz mit Reservierung mit einer möglichen Reservierung oder frei ist, ist hier sehr einfach zu erkennen:
Rot = reserviert
Orange = möglicherweise reserviert (wenn am selben Tag reserviert)
Grün = frei

Ich finde dies deutlicher erkenbar als in den ICE!

Schlecht bei der kostenlosen Online-Reservierung finde ich, dass man nicht erkennen kann, ob der Platz mit Fenster oder mit Wand ist! 😒

Every time I’m on the newer #Azuma #LNER trains in 1st class (not that often!) I’m frustrated by the seats. It’s like being back at school -fixed desks. Awful if you’re not young thin & bendy. Can’t reach the rack over seats (I’m 5ft5) without back strain & have to twist to actually get into a duo seat #badDesign #firstWorldProblems #newIsNotAlwaysBetter

I’m fairly satisfied with the “deli” breakfast and snacks offerings in #LNER first class. By choosing one’s journeys carefully, one could manage a whole day on the complementary breakfast, lunch, and evening meals beers in these trains. #Interrail @diningcar

Unfortunately, my over-65 bus pass is not valid on the shuttle bus from the station to the racecourse. It will cost me £2 in each direction.

I decided to stay in a Hilton hotel, just inside the city walls.

Currently on an #LNER #Azuma train to #Edinburgh!

I almost booked a Lumo ticket Edinburgh - London, but just before confirming, I checked their luggage policy. Good thing I did, because it turns out the bag I always use on longer trips, is 15 cm too long! I could have used their LumoLuggage service, but that would (more than) have negated the savings of using a budget train…

So I ended up booking the usual LNER train for only £5 more, but without the luggage restrictions.

Surge pricing is always hateful, but at least with taxis it can be argued that increasing prices incentivises more drivers to start work to meet the demand. Are LNER going to put on more trains when the prices go up?
